Over the last few months GFTE has been in the studio recording their first ever Extended Play (5 song demo) so we can deliver the sexy straight to your ears. The E.P. is in it’s final mastering stage and should be complete in July of this summer. Those who are signed up on the GFTE web site will get their copy’s before it is released and for free!! (due to the fact that they will not be printed/pressed for another month or so) MAKE SURE YOU SIGN UP!!!

The E.P. will include the songs: Third Times The Charm, Best Friends Ex, Whiskey Cocaine, Doctor, and Pills.

Okay, here is the deal. Go For The Eyes made it to the finals of the Cowboys Star competition, where GFTE was told several times that we would be competing for $5000 dollars cash and an opening spot for Collective Soul during Stampede 2009! The original deal was that we got 20 minutes to play our original songs and we would play after 9 p.m.

The days went on and the secret slowly started to unravel. Instead of playing for 20 minutes we were told that we only had 10, instead of playing Go For The Eyes songs we were told to play country covers…..for the full 10 minutes, instead of $5000 dollars cash for the winner there is absolutely no cash prize, and instead of opening for Collective Soul we would get our press kit handed to their manager.

Clearly Cowboys is losing business and because they are too cheap to hire real or cover country bands they have decided to try and swindle GOOD local bands into playing their style of music for free.

Although we understand that most of you (including us) do not enjoy going to Cowboys, we recognize and appreciate your on going support throughout this competition. Having said that, we have thoroughly enjoyed making this video expressing our “love” for the Cowboys Star competition. We hope you enjoy it as this is dedicated to you!

Our deepest apologies go out to all of those who went out of their way to help us win, and evidently spent money at Cowboys. We also apologize if anyone finds this video offensive.

Hey all, just wanted to give you a quick update about what’s been going on lately.

We’re in the studio! Sean and I finished our parts over the last couple weeks and Jarrett and Jeff are currently busy getting their rock on. After we’ve tracked the guitars then it’s up to Jeff to get his sexy on and sing.

Some of you may have noticed that we lost our website for a couple days, so, many apologies to those of you who were deprived but we’re back and ready to roll just as hard as (but probably harder than) ever!

We’re all really excited about the show coming up on the 19th and we’re hoping you are too. If you don’t know the whole story there, we’re playing as part of the Cowboys battle of the bands called Cowboys Star. It’s rad because the winner gets the opportunity to open for Collective Soul at the stampede kick-off party at Cowboys which is a pretty huge deal so we need you guys out there on the floor at the finals on the 19th!

In other news, it’s Jarrett’s birthday today! Yay!
